Slow Cooker 4-Ingredient Brown Sugar Pork Ribs

Serve these sticky brown sugar pork ribs piled onto a white plate with the extra glaze spooned over the top. They’re amazing with creamy mashed potatoes or buttered egg noodles to catch all that sauce, plus something fresh and crunchy on the side like coleslaw or a simple green salad. If you’re leaning casual, tuck the meat into soft rolls for sandwiches and pair with baked beans or corn on the cob. A crisp apple cider, iced tea, or a light beer balances the sweetness of the glaze really well.

Ingredients:

  • 2–2.5 lbs lean pork ribs (trimmed of visible fat)
  • 1/2 cup sugar-free BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey or 1–2 tbsp zero-calorie sweetener (like erythritol/stevia)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 160°C (320°F)
  2. Place ribs in a baking dish and trim excess fat
  3. In a bowl, mix:
    • BBQ sauce
    • soy sauce
    • honey (or sweetener)
  4. Pour sauce over the ribs and coat well
  5. Cover tightly with foil
  6. Bake for 2–2.5 hours until tender
  7. (Optional) Remove foil and bake another 10–15 mins for light caramelization

Why this is low-point:

  • No brown sugar (big calorie cut)
  • Sugar-free BBQ = way fewer carbs
  • Less sauce overall
  • Leaner meat = lower fat
