There’s something about the smell of warm cinnamon and sugar drifting through the kitchen that instantly slows everything down.
On busy mornings when the house feels chaotic and everyone is rushing in different directions, I’ve learned that a simple pan of Cinnamon Roll Crescents can completely change the mood. The buttery layers, the swirl of cinnamon filling, the soft golden edges — it’s comfort food in its sweetest, simplest form.
I first made this easy Cinnamon Roll Crescents recipe on a Sunday when I didn’t have time to make traditional homemade cinnamon rolls. I had crescent roll dough in the fridge, brown sugar in the pantry, and just enough butter to make something magical happen. What came out of the oven tasted like a cross between bakery-style cinnamon rolls and flaky pastries — soft inside, lightly crisp outside, and dripping with sweet glaze.
Now, this baked crescent roll recipe is one of our go-to treats for holidays, weekend brunch, and even cozy “breakfast for dinner” nights. It’s the kind of recipe that feels special but takes almost no effort — which, honestly, is my favorite kind of cooking.
If you love quick breakfast recipes, simple baked desserts, and anything with cinnamon sugar, this one is going to live on repeat in your kitchen.

INGREDIENT NOTES & DETAILS
Refrigerated Crescent Roll Dough
This is the base of the recipe and what makes it so quick. Look for standard crescent roll sheets or the classic perforated triangles. If using triangles, simply press the seams together. You can also use puff pastry for a flakier baked crescent roll recipe variation.
Unsalted Butter
Melted butter helps the cinnamon sugar stick and creates that rich flavor. If using salted butter, slightly reduce any added salt. For extra depth, try browning the butter before spreading.
Brown Sugar
Brown sugar gives the filling its warm, caramel-like sweetness. Light or dark brown sugar both work, but dark will create a deeper molasses flavor.
Ground Cinnamon
The star of any cinnamon roll recipe. Fresh, high-quality cinnamon makes a huge difference. If your cinnamon has been in the pantry for years, it may be time to refresh it.
Granulated Sugar
A small amount helps balance the filling and creates that slightly crisp outer texture when baked.
Vanilla Extract
Adds warmth and enhances the cinnamon flavor. Pure vanilla extract works best.
Powdered Sugar
Used for the glaze. It melts beautifully with a splash of milk or cream to create that classic drizzle.
Milk or Heavy Cream
For the glaze. Heavy cream will make it richer and thicker. Milk keeps it lighter.Optional add-ins include chopped pecans, cream cheese, mini chocolate chips, or even a touch of maple syrup in the glaze.
