Kielbasa is such a great sausage! Smoky and garlicky, it’s rich and flavorful without ever being too much, and best of all, it works in so many things, from stews to casseroles to appetizers. Here, these Candied Kielbasa Bites pair that great sausage with three simple ingredients to highlight their flavor and add some lovely sweet caramelization to the mix. They’re a great party appetizer but they’re delicious over rice or noodles too!
Servings: 6
Approx. WW Points: about 3–4 points per serving
Ingredients
- 14 oz turkey kielbasa, sliced into bite-size pieces
- 2 tbsp sugar-free maple syrup
- 2 tbsp brown sugar substitute (like Swerve Brown)
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp ketchup (no sugar added if possible)
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice the turkey kielbasa into bite-size rounds and place in a bowl.
- In a small bowl, mix the sugar-free maple syrup, brown sugar substitute, mustard, ketchup, vinegar, garlic powder, and pepper.
- Pour the glaze over the kielbasa and toss well to coat.
- Spread the pieces evenly on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 18–20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until slightly caramelized.
Tips (to keep points low)
- Use turkey kielbasa instead of pork (cuts points almost in half).
- Sugar-free maple syrup helps create the “candied” taste without the points.
- Serve with toothpicks as an appetizer.
1 cup serving ≈ 3–4 WW points depending on the brand of kielbasa.
