Combine
• 1/2 cup canned pumpkin *
• 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice * or to taste
• 1/2 tsp cinnamon * or to taste
As per the normal recipe, add the above ingredients to
• 1 cup self rising flour OR
• 1 cup all purpose flour mixed with
• 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
• 1/2 tsp salt
I doubled the recipe and divided them into 12 bagels * for 2 sp each. For me, this size was big enough. The original recipe is 4 bagels for 3 sp each – per batch.
I boiled * in water for 1 minute, egg washed and baked one batch (6) and I simply egg washed and baked the other batch (6) as per the original recipe. I actually prefer them boiled – they are crisper and I think they are “prettier”. Bake at 350 for about 25 min.
