Low-Point Italian Sausage Noodles (WW Friendly)
Ingredients
- 12 oz whole wheat or high-protein noodles
- 1 lb lean turkey Italian sausage or 99% lean ground turkey
- 2 bell peppers, chopped
- 3 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ cup cooking wine or low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 can (28 oz) diced tomatoes, not drained
- 1 tbsp dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan for topping
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook noodles according to package directions and drain.
- Spray a large skillet with cooking spray and cook turkey sausage until browned.
- Add peppers and garlic; cook 4–5 minutes.
- Stir in seasoning, basil, tomatoes, and wine/broth. Simmer 10 minutes.
- Add cooked noodles and mix well.
- Top with a little Parmesan and parsley.
