Creamed Peas on Toast
Ingredients
- 2 cups frozen peas
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 cup milk
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 4 slices toasted bread
Instructions
- Cook the peas in boiling water for about 3–4 minutes, then drain.
- In a pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute.
- Slowly whisk in the milk and cook until the sauce becomes smooth and thick.
- Add the cooked peas and stir well.
- Season with salt and black pepper.
- Spoon the creamed peas over warm toasted bread and serve.
