Creamed Peas on Toast

Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen peas
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 4 slices toasted bread

Instructions

  1. Cook the peas in boiling water for about 3–4 minutes, then drain.
  2. In a pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute.
  4. Slowly whisk in the milk and cook until the sauce becomes smooth and thick.
  5. Add the cooked peas and stir well.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper.
  7. Spoon the creamed peas over warm toasted bread and serve.
